Ayushmann Khurrana is currently gearing up for his next release Doctor G. Like his previous acclaimed outings, the Anubhuti Kashyap directorial features a unique story, which is off the beaten track. In exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ayushmann talked about working with first time directors and why he enjoys working with them more than the established ones.
"I think for me, it's the script, which is of utmost importance. And most of my films are with first time directors. Most of my hit films are with first time directors like in this day and age, you always get little iffy about working with first time directors. But my entire career is based on risks. So, the moment I stop taking risks, my career will end then and there.”
Talking about the experience of working with first time directors compared to the seasoned ones, Ayushmann said, “You know I’ve worked with all kinds of directors. Of course, I’ve worked with big directors also, but what I've realized with first time directors is that they are more malleable. They are more collaborative; they are more open in a way because they're more raring to go. They're more flexible in a way. So, it's just easy to work with them, I guess. And it's fun working with them.”
The 38-year-old actor is gearing up for his next release Doctor G, a medical drama, in which he will be seen essaying the role of a gynecologist. The ensemble star cast of the film also includes Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah.
