Shah Rukh Khan and the Knight Riders Group have marked a historic milestone in global cricket with the inauguration of the Knight Riders Cricket Ground, Los Angeles, which officially hosted its first-ever Major League Cricket (MLC) fixture. The venue welcomed the Los Angeles Knight Riders as they took on Washington Freedom, signalling a significant step in the expansion of cricket in the United States.

The newly built stadium is the first international cricket venue established by a global cricket franchise, reflecting the Knight Riders Group's long-term commitment to growing the sport through investment in world-class infrastructure.

Constructed to international standards, the Knight Riders Cricket Ground features eight wickets on the main square, ICC-standard playing dimensions and six floodlight towers standing 120 feet tall. More than 32,000 metric tonnes of earth were moved during construction to develop the venue into a world-class cricketing arena designed to offer an elite experience for both players and fans.

Speaking about the landmark achievement, Shah Rukh Khan, Co-owner of the Knight Riders Group, said, “What started as a dream has become a reality today. In a significant development in a long-running copyright dispute, the Delhi High Court has passed an interim order in favour of music label Saregama India Ltd., restraining legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja from broadcasting or communicating songs from 134 films until further orders.

The order was passed by Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, who observed that while Ilaiyaraaja continues to hold rights over his original musical compositions, those rights do not automatically extend to the sound recordings incorporated into cinematograph films. According to the court, the copyright in such sound recordings rests with the producer and, where assigned, with Saregama.

As per the court's observations, Ilaiyaraaja's rights under the Copyright Act are limited to the musical work itself, which refers to the composition independent of the lyrics and the sound recording. The court noted that these rights cannot be interpreted as ownership over the complete film soundtrack.

The dispute arose after Saregama claimed that it had acquired copyright ownership through assignment agreements signed with producers of several films between 1976 and 2001. The company argued that these agreements transferred the rights in the sound recordings, along with the underlying musical and literary works featured in those films.

Saregama further alleged that it recently discovered the songs being made available on multiple digital streaming platforms, including Amazon Music, Apple iTunes and JioSaavn, and claimed that Ilaiyaraaja had also asserted ownership over the content available on these services.

While considering the matter, the High Court observed that there was no dispute regarding the broadcasting of songs forming part of the films listed in the suit. The court stated that, on a prima facie basis, such use appeared to amount to copyright infringement in relation to the disputed sound recordings.

The interim order applies to 134 films spanning several decades of Ilaiyaraaja's celebrated career. Among the notable titles covered are Annakkili (1976), 16 Vayathiniley (1977), Mullum Malarum (1978), Netrikkann (1981) and Raaja Paarvai (1981).

The matter will now proceed before the Delhi High Court, where the copyright claims of both parties will be examined further before a final decision is reached.

After emerging as one of the biggest theatrical successes in Hindi cinema, Dhurandhar is now set to continue its global journey. The Ranveer Singh-starrer will release in theatres across Japan on July 10, 2026, marking another milestone in the film's successful international run.

Ahead of the release, Ranveer Singh recorded a special video message for Japanese audiences, inviting them to experience the action-packed entertainer on the big screen. Calling Dhurandhar an immersive cinematic spectacle, the actor highlighted the film's blend of drama, intensity, scale and emotion while expressing his excitement about the movie reaching a new audience.

The Japan release comes months after the film enjoyed a phenomenal worldwide run following its theatrical release in India on December 5, 2025. Backed by strong box office numbers and positive audience response, Dhurandhar went on to establish itself as one of the biggest commercial successes in recent Hindi cinema.

Written, directed and produced by Aditya Dhar, the spy action thriller is also produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar. Presented by Jio Studios and produced under the banner of B62 Studios, the film has been mounted on a large scale and has been praised for its action sequences, emotional storytelling and high production values.

The makers of The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj have announced a key creative change, with National Award-winning composer Amit Trivedi coming on board to compose the music for the upcoming historical film. The development follows composer Pritam's recent announcement that he is taking a break from mainstream films.

Directed by Sandeep Singh, the two-part historical saga stars Rishab Shetty in the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. With Amit Trivedi now joining the project, lyricist Prasoon Joshi, who has been associated with the film since its early stages, will continue to write the songs.

According to sources close to the development, the makers decided to bring Amit Trivedi on board after Pritam stepped away from the project following his decision to take a break from commercial cinema. The film also marks a first for Trivedi, as it will be his first Hindi historical feature based on the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

A source close to the production said, “The team firmly believes Amit Trivedi is the perfect creative force to bring this epic to life musically. His ability to blend powerful orchestration with deeply rooted Indian melodies, combined with Prasoon Joshi’s powerful writing, makes for an exceptional creative partnership. The music has to reflect the courage, vision, emotion and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and we are confident this soundtrack will become one of the defining highlights of the film.”

The film is being planned as a two-part cinematic project and features Rishab Shetty in the lead role, alongside Arjun Rampal, Vivek Oberoi and an ensemble cast. The makers have mounted the project on a large scale, with production expected to begin later this year.

While plot details have largely been kept under wraps, the film is expected to chronicle the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The addition of Amit Trivedi and the continuation of Prasoon Joshi's association complete an important part of the film's creative team ahead of the commencement of production.

The announcement comes shortly after Pritam informed fans that he would be taking a break from mainstream films, prompting changes to his upcoming commitments. Ranveer Singh's much-anticipated film Pralay is reportedly gearing up to begin production later than initially expected. While an earlier report published in May suggested that the actor would start shooting for the film in August 2026, a fresh update now claims that the project will go on floors in September, with a major portion of the shoot scheduled to take place in Australia.

Directed by Jai Mehta, Pralay is expected to be one of Ranveer Singh's most ambitious projects to date, introducing audiences to a large-scale post-apocalyptic zombie thriller set in a dystopian version of Mumbai. Ranveer Singh reportedly begins preparations According to a report by Pinkvilla, Ranveer Singh has already started preparing for the physically and emotionally demanding role. The actor is said to be undergoing extensive training ahead of the film's production.

A source told the entertainment portal, "Ranveer will start shooting for the Jai Mehta directorial in the second half of 2026. The shoot is planned in Australia, and he has already kick-started prep. This is a film that requires intense physical and emotional preparation, given the scale and genre."

The report suggests that the actor has been actively involved in the development process as the makers continue refining the project before cameras begin rolling. Pre-production underway in Australia The report further states that pre-production is currently underway in Australia, where director Jai Mehta and his team are collaborating with technicians who have previously worked on international productions. The makers are reportedly focusing on creating the film's expansive post-apocalyptic setting, with visual effects expected to play a major role in bringing the zombie world to life.

In addition to the technical preparations, the writing team is said to be fine-tuning the screenplay while continuing to develop the film's larger zombie universe. A survival story set in dystopian Mumbai As per reports, Pralay is set in a dystopian version of Mumbai and revolves around a married couple fighting to survive during a zombie outbreak. The film is expected to offer a fresh take on the zombie genre in Indian cinema, blending large-scale action with emotional storytelling.

The female lead, however, has not yet been officially announced. Earlier reports had suggested that actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, daughter of filmmaker Priyadarshan, could make her Bollywood debut opposite Ranveer Singh in the film. However, the makers are yet to confirm the casting.

Filmmaker Priyadarshan has confirmed that he is not associated with Hera Pheri 3, shortly after producer Firoz Nadiadwala clarified that the veteran director is not involved in the much-awaited comedy sequel. While Nadiadwala maintained that the project is progressing in the right direction, Priyadarshan offered a more cautious outlook, stating that the film's future remains uncertain due to legal and personal issues.

Firoz Nadiadwala says Priyadarshan is not part of the film During an interview with Variety India, producer Firoz Nadiadwala was asked about Priyadarshan's reported association with Hera Pheri 3. Dismissing the speculation, he said, "No, Priyadarshan is not part of it." Sharing an update on the film's progress, the producer added, "Things are on track and moving in the right direction."

Hera Pheri 3 has witnessed several delays and changes in direction over the years, leading to frequent speculation surrounding its development. While Nadiadwala's remarks suggest that the project is moving ahead, the makers are yet to announce details regarding the shooting schedule or release date. Priyadarshan confirms his exit Reacting to Nadiadwala's statement, Priyadarshan confirmed that he is currently not involved with the film. Speaking to Hindustan Times, the filmmaker said, "What Feroze has said, is true. I am not associated with Hera Pheri 3 at the present."

He further expressed doubts about whether the film would eventually be made. "To the best of my knowledge, Hera Pheri 3 will never hit the screen due to lots of legal issues and personal conflicts. Whether I am involved or not is unimportant," Priyadarshan said.

The Hera Pheri franchise has undergone several creative shifts over the years. The original Hera Pheri, released in 2000, was directed by Priyadarshan and went on to become one of Hindi cinema's most loved comedy films. Its sequel, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), was directed by the late Neeraj Vora.

In 2018, filmmaker Indra Kumar was officially announced as the director of Hera Pheri 3. However, he later exited the project. This was followed by reports suggesting that Priyadarshan would return to direct the third instalment, sparking excitement among fans of the franchise.

Digital expansion to create an epic Vanar army While the physical shoot involving thousands of performers is a massive undertaking, it is only the foundation for what will eventually appear on the big screen. The report stated that the true ambition of the sequence will be realized during post-production.

The thousands of live-action performers filmed on set will be digitally expanded using advanced visual effects. Through VFX technology, the on-screen army will be multiplied significantly to create a battle of epic proportions. The production team aims to deliver one of the largest battle spectacles ever attempted in the history of Indian cinema, with plans to showcase an astonishing 50,000 vanars on screen simultaneously.

Varanasi is being shaped as a grand mythological action epic. The narrative explores the thrilling adventures of its protagonist as he travels across different timelines. Alongside Mahesh Babu, the film features a stellar ensemble cast including Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj in pivotal roles. Shraddha Kapoor's upcoming film Eetha has landed in controversy even before its theatrical release. While the recently unveiled teaser drew appreciation for the actress's transformation into legendary Lavani and Tamasha artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar, the film's title has now become the subject of criticism.

After the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) questioned why the biographical drama was not named after Vithabai Narayangaonkar, members of the late folk icon's family have also urged the makers to reconsider the title and rename the film in her honour. NCP questions the choice of title According to a report by TV9 Marathi, the NCP's Film and Cultural Department has objected to the title Eetha, arguing that a film based on the life of Vithabai Narayangaonkar should carry her name. The party has suggested that titles such as Vitha or Vithabai would be more appropriate and would acknowledge her immense contribution to Maharashtra's Lavani and Tamasha traditions.

Babasaheb Patil, Maharashtra State President of the NCP's Film and Cultural Department, reportedly said the organisation considers it its responsibility to preserve and honour Vithabai's legacy. He questioned why the filmmakers chose not to name the biopic after the celebrated artist despite her lasting impact on Maharashtra's folk art. Vithabai Narayangaonkar's family backs the demand The demand has now found support within Vithabai Narayangaonkar's family. As per the report, her sons Kailash and Rajesh Narayangaonkar, along with her grandson Mohit Narayangaonkar, have expressed disappointment over the title and appealed to the makers to change it.

For the family, the concern extends beyond the name of the film. They believe a biopic celebrating Vithabai's extraordinary life and achievements should bear her name so that future generations continue to recognise the woman who played a defining role in shaping Maharashtra's Lavani and Tamasha heritage.

As of now, director Laxman Utekar and production house Maddock Films have not issued any statement regarding the controversy or the demand to rename the film. Tanishk Bagchi's engagement took place with Payal Dangodra, a prominent fashion, beauty, food, travel and lifestyle content creator.

The engagement ceremony was a close knit one and took place in the Mumbai residence of producer Mahaveer Jain. Only close friends and family members were present to indulge in the celebrations and bless the couple.

As per inside sources, Amruta Fadnavis, wife of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, was one of the guests and she even sang songs.

Twenty-five years after Dil Chahta Hai became a landmark film in Hindi cinema, Saif Ali Khan is reportedly set to collaborate once again with Farhan Akhtar and Excel Entertainment. According to a report by Variety India, the actor has signed on to headline an upcoming thriller backed by producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar.

While the makers have not officially announced the project, the report states that the film is currently in the writing stage and is expected to begin production by the end of the year. An intense thriller exploring morality and ethics As per the report, the untitled film will be an edge-of-the-seat thriller that explores themes of morality, ethics and complex societal issues. Saif Ali Khan will reportedly be paired opposite a leading female actor, although the casting process is still underway. The project has not yet locked a director.

Sources quoted by Variety India claim that Saif has already committed to the film and is looking forward to reuniting with Farhan Akhtar, with whom he shares a long-standing personal and professional association.

The collaboration marks another milestone in the association between Saif Ali Khan and Farhan Akhtar, whose Dil Chahta Hai completed 25 years this year. Released in 2001, the coming-of-age drama remains one of the most celebrated Hindi films of its generation. The film earned a cult following for its contemporary storytelling, memorable characters and fresh take on friendship and relationships.

Saif Ali Khan was recently seen playing a police officer in Netflix India's Kartavya. He also has an interesting line-up of projects ahead. The actor will next be seen in Priyadarshan's Haiwaan, co-starring Akshay Kumar. He is also part of director Rahul Dholakia's historical Netflix film based on India's first General Election.

Director Nitesh Tiwari's much-awaited film Ramayana may have a grand international premiere in Dubai if ongoing plans materialise. According to a report by Mid-Day, the makers have resumed discussions about hosting the film's premiere in the UAE after earlier putting the idea on hold.

The event is reportedly being planned for October 28 and is internally being referred to as the "Desert Premiere." Ramayana premiere plans revived after earlier pause As per the report, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra had initially considered Dubai as the venue for the film's premiere. However, those plans were paused earlier this year due to the conflict in West Asia.

The report states that discussions have now resumed following the easing of the regional situation, with the team once again exploring the feasibility of hosting the event in Dubai. Location scouting reportedly underway According to Mid-Day, preliminary groundwork has already begun, with location scouts evaluating multiple venues across Dubai.

A source quoted in the report said, "In April, the idea was put on hold because the timing didn't feel right. Now that the situation has eased considerably, the team is again exploring the feasibility of taking Ramayana to Dubai. The city was always the preferred choice because of its ability to stage large-scale events and the Indian diaspora."

If the plans go ahead, the premiere is expected to be attended by the film's lead cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash.

Ramayana is among the biggest Indian film projects currently in production. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and backed by producer Namit Malhotra, the epic stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.

While the makers have not officially confirmed the reported Dubai premiere, the film continues to generate significant buzz ahead of its release.

Actor Jacqueline Fernandez has withdrawn her special leave petition before the Supreme Court that challenged proceedings initiated against her in the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) Rs 200 crore money laundering case linked to alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. As per an IANS report, a Bench comprising Justices B.V. Nagarathna and Joymalya Bagchi on Thursday allowed the actor to withdraw her petition after the matter was taken up for hearing.

Petition challenged Delhi High Court and trial court orders Jacqueline had approached the Supreme Court after the Delhi High Court refused to quash the ED's prosecution complaint and the trial court's order framing charges against her under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). With the withdrawal of the petition, the legal proceedings against the actor will continue before the trial court. Matter was reassigned after judge recused himself The case was initially listed before a Bench of Justices Prashant Kumar Mishra and Atul S. Chandurkar on June 11. However, Justice Mishra recused himself from hearing the matter after informing the parties that his son had appeared for the government in a connected case.

The judge stated that since his son had represented the government in one of the related matters, the case should be heard by another Bench. Following the recusal, the matter was reassigned to Justices B.V. Nagarathna and Joymalya Bagchi. Jacqueline has pleaded not guilty Earlier this month, Jacqueline appeared before the Patiala House Court and pleaded not guilty to the charges framed against her under the PMLA. She informed the court that she intended to contest the allegations during trial.

The trial court also framed money laundering charges against Sukesh Chandrashekhar, his wife Leena Maria Paul, and 14 others. All the accused denied the charges and opted to face trial.

The matter is now scheduled to come up before the trial court on July 16 for further proceedings.

The latest development comes weeks after Jacqueline withdrew her application seeking to become an approver in the case. The ED had opposed her request, arguing that her conduct during the investigation was not satisfactory. The agency also claimed that she failed to make a full and truthful disclosure in statements recorded under Section 50 of the PMLA. According to the ED, Jacqueline remained in contact with Chandrashekhar even after learning about his alleged criminal background and did not fully cooperate during the investigation.

The Enforcement Directorate has alleged that Chandrashekhar gifted Jacqueline luxury items and valuables worth around Rs 7 crore using proceeds of crime generated through the alleged money laundering operation. Jacqueline, however, has consistently denied any involvement in the alleged offences. She has maintained that she was unaware of Chandrashekhar's alleged criminal activities and did not know the source of the funds used to purchase the gifts.

The money laundering investigation originates from allegations that Chandrashekhar cheated the wives of former Ranbaxy promoters Shivinder Singh and Malvinder Singh of nearly Rs 200 crore.

The much-awaited multi-starrer comic caper, Welcome To The Jungle, will release this Friday, on June 26. The censor process was completed on time and in this article, Bollywood Hungama will exclusively focus on the cuts given to the film.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed Welcome To The Jungle with a U/A 16+ dialogue. However, the makers were asked to make several changes. The dialogue ‘Kaala paida hua hai, koyla hai’ was replaced with ‘saadah paida hua hai, namoona hua hai’. A 10-second scene containing the words ‘na diya’ was asked to be deleted. The word ‘screwed’ was replaced with a suitable word in two places. Similarly, the word ‘Azarudden’ was replaced with ‘Allaudin’.

A dialogue mentioning ‘Paani of Kashmir’ was asked to be deleted. The dialogue ‘Yaad karo kurbani, munh mein bhar lo paani’ was replaced with ‘Jo shaheed hone ja raha tha, uske munh mein bhar lo paani’. ‘Aandha’ was replaced with ‘dheela’ while the dialogue ‘desh ki tatti’ was asked to be deleted. Then, ‘Izzat le lo’ was replaced with ‘Yeh aapke saath jaane ko...’, ‘Gorkha Regiment’ was replaced with ‘Tum army se ho?’. ‘General’ was removed and replaced with ‘Officer’ and ‘Sir’ wherever it occurred in the film.

Now, coming to the visual deletions. The cut list says that the makers ‘deleted and replaced sensual bikini visuals, close-up of woman hip passing visuals and hip movement visuals in the song wherever they occurred’. At one point, it specifically mentions that sensual visuals of Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez have been deleted. Lastly, the ‘vulgar’ hand gesture visuals were replaced with a close-up shot of Vindu Dara Singh.

In short, the CBFC asked for 14 changes. Once these modifications were done, the makers of Welcome To The Jungle were handed the censor certificate on June 20. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 164.50 minutes. In other words, Welcome To The Jungle is 2 hours, 44 minutes and 50 seconds long.

The Hollywood film Supergirl will release tomorrow, June 26, and in this article, Bollywood Hungama will focus on the cuts given to the film.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed the film with a U/A 16+ certificate. However, the film had to go through several audio modifications. The word ‘screwed’ was asked to be deleted. Similarly, ‘b***h’ and ‘balls’ were also asked to be deleted.

Another word which was similarly censored was ‘wh**e’. Interestingly, 30 minutes footage of Supergirl was screened exclusively for select fans on June 20 in Mumbai. Bollywood Hungama was a part of that screening and one of the scenes shown had a dialogue with the word ‘wh**e’. It is uttered by the lead protagonists in a comical context.

Lastly, the middle finger visual was also asked to be deleted. Once these changes were made, Supergirl was passed on June 23. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 109.58 minutes. In other words, Supergirl is 1 hour, 49 minutes and 58 seconds long.

Meanwhile, Bollywood Hungama reported yesterday that Supergirl initially struggled to get shows due to wide showcasing given by multiplexes to this week’s big Hindi film, Welcome To The Jungle. Almost 24 hours later, the scenario is now better. But as per trade sources, Warner Bros’ struggle still continues for getting the desired showcasing.
