Ayushmann Khurrana is currently gearing up for his next release Doctor G. Like his previous acclaimed outings, the Anubhuti Kashyap directorial features a unique story, which is off the beaten track. In exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ayushmann revealed how he managed to land such unique and quirky roles.
“I think it started with Vicky Donor. Back at that time, films with such storylines were not written. But I think the success of my first film and then Dum Laga Ke Haisha, these two, I think, they gave the impetus to the scriptwriters to think out of the box and come out with subjects which were quirky and little taboo and different. So, I started getting those scripts.”
He continued, “There was a time in between where I was not getting right scripts and I was like ‘I’m not getting films,’ because Vicky Donor was such a benchmark. Then suddenly there were series of these kinds of scripts and I was getting very interesting subjects, and Doctor G is one of them.”
The 38-year-old actor is gearing up for his next release Doctor G, a medical drama, in which he will be seen essaying the role of a gynecologist. The ensemble star cast of the film also includes Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah.
