BTS has dropped the music video of 'Dynamite'. The highly anticipated English single featuring the biggest boyband in the world brings back the 'Disco Pop' era with vibrant style and basically, their OOMPH FACTOR. As per their final press release, "BTS sings of joy and confidence, treasuring the little things in life that make life truly valuable and special.”
The video begins with the six members - RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, and Jungkook - heading in their own direction as Jimin kick-starts it. Straight to a bedroom as Jungkook, who looks like a 90s heartthrob in double denim look, is getting ready to leave. The bedroom has a piano, and has all the posters of icons - The Beatles, David Bowie, among others and gives you an old-school cozy vibe. The camera pans to a record store where RM is vibing to his rap verses and truly hits you with the nostalgia of buying records and albums at the stores. J-Hope shows off his smooth moves and flow as he is at the back of a diner. Well, it is called Dynamite - Burger, and Donut. You see the members dancing through the streets as Jimin and Taehyung belt out their vocals. Suga is seen grooving at a basketball court which is very apt considering how big of a fan he is of the sport. You see them do different dance styles but more importantly, they are having fun.
BTS delivers yet again. To be honest, seven years down the line, they continue to reinvent themselves which is very important in the music industry. This is not something BTS has done before. The entire English track is a first for the seven members as a group. Strolling through different pop eras, showcasing an array of iconic signature choreography styles whilst bringing the disco-pop era back with technicolor filled vibe, all eyes on them because it ain't easy to bring fresh sound with every new era but these superstars know how to make lively music. The South Korean group, which debuted in 2013, has seen massive stardom. As they continue to rise, their music has evolved over the years.
'Dynamite' is a cheerful song as they talk about the value of life that brings out a new side of BTS and it reflects in the lyrics - "'Cause I, I, I'm in the stars tonight / So watch me bring the fire and set the night alight (Hey) / Shining through the city with a little funk and soul / So I'ma light it up like dynamite, woah."
The song gives hope to those who are struggling in trying times. It gives an instant serotonin boost as they want people to live their best lives and enjoy the simplest of the moments. "Bring a friend, join the crowd, whoever wanna come along / Word up, talk the talk, just move like we off the wall / Day or night, the sky's alight, so we dance to the break of dawn / Ladies and gentlemen, I got the medicine so you should keep ya eyes on the ball, huh."
David Stewart and Jessica Agombar have contributed to the song. BTS raked in 30.2 million views & 3.79 million likes in the first 24 hours since the 'Dynamite' music video teaser released. They shattered their own record that was held by Boy With Luv' Teaser 2 which had raked in 16.1 million views and 2.7 million likes. It has now broken the record as the most viewed music video teaser of all time on YouTube.
'Dynamite' is fresh and gives an insight into what the seven superstars can bring to the table with every new era. It gives us joy, hope, and so much warmth. We have another ANTHEM OF THE YEAR!On that note, "Shining through the city with a little funk and soul / So I'ma light it up like dynamite, woah."
