Aditya Roy Kapur and Samantha Ruth Prabhu begin Raj & DK’s action-fantasy series Rakt Bramhand shoot in Mumbai: Report

The highly anticipated Netflix series, Rakt Bramhand – The Bloody Kingdom, has officially kicked off production in Mumbai. For this ambitious project, Raj & DK partner with director Rahi Anil Barve and long-time collaborator Sita R Menon, under their production company, D2R Films. The series promises a gripping, edgy narrative set against the backdrop of a fantastical kingdom with bloody action and spectacular visuals. The series boasts a stellar cast, including Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi. Set in a fantastical realm, the show promises to be an epic tale filled with intrigue, betrayal, and thrilling action.

The production team has been hard at work preparing for this ambitious undertaking. Earlier this year, it was revealed that the lead actors, Aditya Roy Kapur and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, had undergone rigorous sword-fighting training to perfect their roles. Now, their skills are being put to the test as they bring their characters to life on screen.

Despite the demanding schedule of simultaneously filming the third season of their popular series The Family Man, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK are closely involved in overseeing every aspect of Rakt Bramhand – The Bloody Kingdom. The creators are known for their ability to blend humor, action, and compelling storytelling, and the series is expected to be no exception.

As per a report in Mid-day, a source from the set shared insights into the production process, “Rakt Bramhand is Raj-DK’s first action-fantasy series set in a fictitious kingdom. Even as they are shooting The Family Man, they are constantly supervising Rakt Bramhand’s progress. The sheer scale of the production is something they haven’t attempted before. We started shooting two weeks ago, and are currently canning some elaborate action sequences at Bahubali Studio in Borivali. There will be a short 10-day break soon, after which we will regroup in October. Most of the shoot will take place on this set and in other parts of the city till February 2025.” ALSO READ: EXCLUSIVE: Wamiqa Gabbi kicks off shoot for Raj & DK’s action-fantasy series Rakt Bramhand – The Bloody Kingdom

BREAKING: Deepak Tijori files FIR against producer of Manoj Bajpayee-starrer Bhaiyyaji Vikram Khakhar for allegedly duping him of Rs. 17.50 lakhs

BREAKING: Deepak Tijori files FIR against producer of Manoj Bajpayee-starrer Bhaiyyaji Vikram Khakhar for allegedly duping him of Rs. 17.50 lakhs

Deepak Tijori has filed a police complaint against producer Vikram Khakhar at the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai for allegedly cheating and conning him of Rs. 17.50 lakhs. The complaint was filed by the actor-filmmaker on September 17. Bollywood Hungama exclusively has a copy of the police complaint.

As per the contents of the FIR, Deepak Tijori met Vikram Khakhar in 2019, when the latter used to work as a line producer. Deepak mentioned to him about making the film Tipppsy which has been stuck for a while. Vikram Khakhar offered to arrange its shoot in London, United Kingdom. However, he said that Deepak Tijori would have to shell out Rs. 15 lakhs for the same. Deepak agreed and on March 3, 2020, he transferred Rs. 17.40 lakhs to Vikram which included the said amount and the GST.

Deepak Tijori then stated in the complaint that whenever he would ask Vikram Khakhar about the status of the film, he would cite the Covid-19 pandemic as the reason why film shootings are stalled in the European country. Deepak then mentioned that even after the pandemic effects were over, he would make excuses for not getting the films on floors. Realizing that Vikram Khakhar had no intention to help commence the shoot of Tipppsy, Deepak Tijori asked for his money. Vikram claimed he would refund the amount but never did so. On March 14, when Deepak messaged him, Vikram Khakhar assured him that he'd meet him but he never came for the said meeting.

Deepak Tijori also revealed that he had a look at the bills that were supposedly generated when he was working on reviving Tipppsy and it made it clear that he has not spent a single penny on its making.

The FIR was filed under Section 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the newly constituted Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Vikram Khakhar has recently produced Manoj Bajpayee starrer Bhaiyya Ji and is also one of the producers of the upcoming film Vikrant Massey-Raashii Khanna starrer Talaakhon Mein Ek.

Kareena Kapoor Khan says, "I think The Buckingham Murders is a very brave film"

Kareena Kapoor Khan says, "I think The Buckingham Murders is a very brave film"

Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer The Buckingham Murders recently released on the big screen after doing the rounds at several film festivals. While for Kareena the film has been special since it marks her debut as a producer, fans of the actress too are quite thrilled to see the film since it features her in a never-seen-before character. Kareena, who essays the role of a cop with a traumatic past, spoke about the love coming her way for this character and how she took up the challenge with the film on her 25th year in the industry.

At a recent event, Kareena Kapoor Khan said, "I think The Buckingham Murders is a very brave film because it's a film that we set out to do which would be very true to  its ethnicity, and authenticity. We wanted to shoot the film in a small town in England and it was a story about that but the way Hansal wanted to shoot it, we were like we can't have people speak in Hindi, the people, the local people living there. So, we said let's make a Hindi and English and an Hinglish film and let's stick to its truest form. So, somehow I just wanted to do it. I thought after like 25 years if it's not now to experiment and do something different, it's gonna be never and I've always actually tried to do that with films like Chameli and Dev very early on in my career."

The Buckingham Murders released in English and Hindi, and despite the film featuring Hinglish accents in its dialogues, the audiences are still embracing it. The film marks a unique collaboration between actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, who has stepped into a full-fledged intense suspense drama for the first time, director Hansal Mehta and producer Ektaa R Kapoor.

Released exclusively in cinemas on September 13, 2024, The Buckingham Murders features an exceptional ensemble cast, including Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen in key roles. Written by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker, it is a Mahana Films and TBM Films production, presented by Balaji Telefilms, and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, and first-time producer Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Karan Johar recalls people’s reaction when he told them about having kids through surrogacy and being a single father: “Log kya kahenge, samaaj kya kahega…”

Karan Johar’s personal life has also been a subject of public interest, particularly his journey as a single father. He has always been candid about his personal life. He has often shared heartwarming moments with his twins, Yash and Roohi, whom he welcomed into the world in 2017 through surrogacy. However, Johar's decision to become a single father was not without its challenges. He has openly discussed the numerous people who expressed concerns and reservations about his choice. Many questioned his ability to raise children without a partner, citing societal norms and expectations. However, Johar remained steadfast in his decision, drawing strength from the support of his mother, Hiroo Johar.

In a recent interview with Jai Madaan – Lady of Fortune YouTube channel, Johar spoke candidly about the societal pressures he faced. He recalled how people often questioned his choices, suggesting that he should be more cautious and consider the potential consequences of his actions. He said, “I never want to have regret, I do what I want to do. I live unapologetically. A lot of people have given me a lot of advice. When I decided to do Koffee with Karan, they told me I was making a mistake by over-exposing myself. They would say that a director should have some mystique, and that they should be behind the camera. I broke those myths.”

He recalled that people would ask him, “Are you sure? Log kya kahenge, samaaj kya kahega (What will society say)?’ But that did not bother him. Karan continued, “I said, ‘Why should I be bothered about what people say when I have my mother’s blessings?’ My mother was so supportive. She said immediately, ‘You want to have a child of your own without a partner, please go ahead. But make sure, because it’s a very big responsibility’. Watching someone grow up in front of you, and develop their own personalities, it’s a big deal.”

On the work front, Karan Johar is now promoting his upcoming co-production Jigra starring Alia Bhatt. It is scheduled for October 11 release. ALSO READ: Guneet Monga DEFENDS Karan Johar amid nepotism trolling; calls criticism “Very unfair”

Diljit Dosanjh Concert Ticket Controversy: Delhi-based law student files legal notice against organizers claiming scalping and malpractice

Diljit Dosanjh Concert Ticket Controversy: Delhi-based law student files legal notice against organizers claiming scalping and malpractice

The highly anticipated concert of Diljit Dosanjh, scheduled for October 26 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, has met with controversy after a Delhi-based law student filed a legal notice against the organizers. The student, Riddhima Kapoor, accused the organizers of the Dil-Luminati Tour of violating consumer rights and engaging in unfair trade practices during the ticket sales process.

Kapoor claimed that despite being a registered HDFC Credit Card holder, she was unable to secure a ticket for the concert. She alleged that the organizers had announced the opening of the booking window for September 12 at 1 PM, but the tickets went on sale at 12:59 PM, leaving many fans empty-handed.

The legal notice alleged that the sudden unavailability of tickets was a result of manipulation and scalping practices by the organizers. Kapoor asserted that the organizers were artificially inflating demand and manipulating prices, which constitutes a violation of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

“This abrupt and suspicious transaction strongly suggests manipulation and scalping practices. The sudden unavailability of tickets indicates that your organisation may be artificially inflating demand and manipulating prices, which constitutes an unfair trade practice under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. The practice of scalping and hoarding of tickets with an intent to resell them at inflated prices is a clear violation of consumer rights and an act of bad faith,” the Free Press Journal quoted the notice.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police have issued a warning against fraudulent ticket sales for the concert. The police shared a video on social media, urging people to be alert and avoid falling victim to online scams. "Be cautious about online fraud and protect yourself," the police caption read.

Diljit Dosanjh's Dil-Luminati Tour is set to kick off in Delhi and will then travel to other cities across India, including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Indore, Chandigarh, and Guwahati. The Delhi concert offered two ticket categories: Fan Pit, priced at Rs. 19,999, and Gold (Phase 3), priced at Rs. 12,999. Kangana Ranaut claims film industry is celebrating that her self-financed Emergency didn’t release like Deepika Padukone’s Padmaavat and Alia Bhatt’s Udta Punjab: “The government protected them and they were released”

Kangana Ranaut claims film industry is celebrating that her self-financed Emergency didn’t release like Deepika Padukone’s Padmaavat and Alia Bhatt’s Udta Punjab: “The government protected them and they were released”

Kangana Ranaut’s film, Emergency, has encountered significant hurdles ahead of its release. Initially slated for September 6, the political drama, where Ranaut takes on the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, faced a setback when its certification was rescinded following objections from several Sikh organizations. These groups expressed concerns about the portrayal of their community in the film.

In a recent interview, Ranaut voiced her frustration over the lack of support for her project, contrasting her experience with that of other films in the past that faced similar challenges. She pointed to notable examples such as Padmaavat and Udta Punjab, both of which were met with severe protests and threats but ultimately received backing from the industry and the government. "It's happened in the past too. There have been films like Padmaavat and Udta Punjab which were released quite smoothly. There were throats to chop off someone's nose, someone's neck, but the government protected them and they were released," she told News18.

The absence of solidarity has left Ranaut feeling isolated. “When it came to my film's release, no one… especially no one from the Congress party supported me, not even the film industry did. I definitely feel like I'm on my own. When I see these kind of feelings, this narrow-minded thinking, what kind of hope from people would I be left with?” she explained.

Ranaut's current predicament is compounded by the apparent indifference of her peers. She claimed, “The film industry is celebrating that my self-financed film didn't release. I am in the loneliest corner of the world.”

Udta Punjab faced backlash for its unflinching depiction of the drug crisis in Punjab. Similarly, Padmaavat encountered significant challenges, including threats against its cast and crew, yet was ultimately able to hit theaters.

The film's focus on a highly controversial period in Indian history, particularly the national Emergency declared in the 1970s, was expected to stir debate. Kangana Ranaut essays the role of former PM Indira Gandhi in the movie. 19 Years of No Entry EXCLUSIVE: Celina Jaitly admits she was approached for the sequel; also confesses she and Fardeen Khan were at loggerheads during shoot of ‘Ishq Mein’: “Prabhu Dheva sir played United Nations, resolved our misunderstandings…”

One of the most loved films of Indian cinema, No Entry (2005), completed 19 years on August 26. Starring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta, Celina Jaitly and Esha Deol, the Anees Bazmee-directorial was loved for its innumerable comic moments and chemistry between the lead characters. The sequel has been in the making for years and it seems like it’s all set to go on floors in a few months. The second part stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Arjun Kapoor.

Celina Jaitly recently posted about No Entry's 19th anniversary on her social media handles. Bollywood Hungama exclusively asked her what the film meant to her and whether there was ever any discussion of her being in the sequel. Also, with Fardeen Khan making a comeback, it'll be apt to see her and him once again in No Entry 2.

Celina Jaitly said, “They (the producers) did reach out to me a few years ago for the sequel but then it did not happen that time.  I would love to play Sanjana again in No Entry’s sequel as both Fardeen and I have evolved into the perfect current Sunny-Sanjana. I believe I would also pair well with Diljit Dosanjh. I also admire him as an artist very much. But, it obviously depends on what secrets the script for the sequel holds.”

Celina added, “No Entry is a film that is very close to my heart. Thanks to Anees Bazmee ji, I was lucky to work with a genius technician like the late Ashok Mehta the cinematographer. I had grown up watching Anil Kapoor’s films since childhood and to work with and learn from the maestro of comedy upfront was also a very illuminating experience for me. Boney Kapoor ji as a producer left no stone unturned with regard to any expectations and expenses and hence, it was a blessing on all levels.”

Celina Jaitly further stated, “On sets of No Entry is where I realized my forte as an actor is in comedy. It was also one of the biggest hit films of my career and the love and cult fan base I received continues for a lifetime. There can never be another film that matches the iconic comic performances and humour triggers that we as an ensemble cast created in order to bring the house down in the theatres.”

Celina then confessed about her memorable visit to the cinemas to see the reaction to the comic caper, “I remember I had gone in disguise to see No Entry and a gentleman laughed so hard in a scene that he fell off his chair in the movie theatre! The scene was the one in which I brought all the neighbours to stop Fardeen’s character from committing suicide at his home. The same person fell again in the wedding scene. His family had to pick him up (laughs).”

She also said that her chemistry with Fardeen Khan was much appreciated, “People were mesmerised by my and Fardeen’s on-screen pairing and chemistry. That fervour has continued since Janasheen(2003). However, the funny thing is that Fardeen and I were at loggerheads during half of the filming of No Entry, for what I do not even remember (laughs). We were not speaking to each other at all in South Africa during the filming of our super hit song ‘Ishq Mein’ choreographed by Prabhu Dheva sir. Finally, Prabhu Dheva sir 'played' United Nations, resolved our misunderstandings and we created one of the most iconic songs of Bollywood (smiles).”

Celina also spoke highly of Anees Bazmee, “His understanding of humour is par excellence and I can never forget the way his face lit up when he used to sit actors down and discuss the shots. I loved working with him because he is very knowledgeable on every level. His communication is positively engaging and uplifting and that’s what an actor needs to perform, especially in comedy. We together created a legacy in comedy. It was unadulterated humour that was devoid of any sleaze; it was also a pure comedy film that continues to entertain big and small to date and its energy and legacy are incomparable.”

Celina Jaitly signed off by adding, “I also gained great personal relationships that continue even today with Lara Dutta and Esha Gupta. Just like Anil ji’s iconic dialogue in the film, No Entry taught people to be positive (smiles).”

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is set to venture into solo production for his upcoming epic period drama, Love & War. The film, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, is slated to begin production early next month. Bhansali's decision to self-produce the film comes on the heels of the successful launch of his web series debut, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, on Netflix. Riding on the wave of this success, Bhansali has reportedly inked a substantial post-theatrical deal with the streaming giant.

As per a report in Mid-day, industry sources have revealed that Netflix has committed a base price of Rs. 130 crore for the streaming rights of Love & War. Bollywood Hungama had exclusively reported last month that Akshay Kumar-starrer Tirangaa is not a remake of the 1993 film of the same name, starring Nana Patekar and Raaj Kumar. Bollywood Hungama has now learned of another exclusive information about the film – it’ll be directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan.

A source told us, “The producers of the film – Ashvin Varde, Subhash Kale and Narendra Hirawat – along with Akshay Kumar realized that Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan will be an apt choice to handle a film like this and give it the required commercial treatment. This is how the acclaimed director came on board.”

The source further said, “Tirangaa is expected to go on floors by December 2024.”

Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan has earlier directed Lahore (2010) and 72 Hoorain (2023) and both won National Awards. He was also one of the writers of Ranveer Singh’s cricket drama, ’83 (2021).

Sanjay and Akshay came close to working together for a film named Gorkha. It was to be produced by Aanand L Rai and after the announcement, it was shelved. In January 2023, Aanand L Rai told Bollywood Hungama, “Yes, it is true. We are not making this film for now. There are technical issues. There are factual clarifications that need to be made.”

Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan was also going to make Chandamama Door Ke, a space film starring the late Sushant Singh Rajput.

On August 10, Narendra Hirawat denied reports that Tirangaa is the remake of the old film of the same name. He shared a statement with Bollywood Hungama which said, “In the last few days, there have been a few media reports stating that we are producing a remake of the film Tirangaa with Shri Akshay Kumar in the lead. We would like to hereby affirm that this news is completely baseless and untrue. Yes, we are indeed producing a film with Shri Akshay Kumar in the lead but we would like to categorically state that it is NOT a remake of any film. It is a completely new and original script. An official announcement regarding the same will be made soon.”

Netflix reacts to filing plagiarism charges against Squid Game after filmmaker Soham Shah points out similarities with Imran Khan starrer Luck

Netflix reacts to filing plagiarism charges against Squid Game after filmmaker Soham Shah points out similarities with Imran Khan starrer Luck

Netflix has come in defense of its highly-acclaimed Korean show Squid Game which is currently facing plagiarism charges filed by Bollywood filmmaker Soham Shah. The latter, in his lawsuit, has alleged that the basic plotline of the popular web-series is inspired by his 2009 survival drama Luck which marked the debut of Shruti Haasan in Hindi Cinema and featured Imran Khan as the male lead. However, the streaming giant has denied its claims.

As per a TMZ report, after Sohum Shah filed a complaint against Netflix for this ‘blatant rip off’ the latter has issued a statement asserting denial and maintain that the claim has no merit. Furthermore, revealing how Squid Game was created by and written by Hwang Dong Hyuk, Netflix has also added that they would ‘defend this matter vigorously’. Meanwhile, Sohum Shah has taken a firm stand insisting about pursuing this lawsuit. According to his statement, he has pointed out that the main plot, characters, themes, mood, setting and sequence of events of Squid Game are strikingly similar to that of Luck, further adding that such similarities could not be just a coincidence.

Speaking about the show, Squid Game features over 400 contestants, all of whom are in deep financial hardship, as they participate in a secret contest where they play a series of popular Korean children's games involving a risky twist, making it a matter of life and death. On the other hand, Luck which featured an ensemble cast with Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty, Chitrashi Rawat, Danny Denzongpa, among others features a few contestants who decide to get involved in a game of ‘luck’ to get rid of their financial crisis, where defeat is synonymous to death. While Squid Game released its first season in 2021 on Netflix, Luck released in theatres way back in 2009.

Sunita Ahuja compares herself to Gauri Khan as she reacts to being approached by Bigg Boss; asks, “You think I clean toilets? Do you think we’re struggling financially?”

Sunita Ahuja, the star wife of 90s famous star Govinda, recently was seen showing off her candor in an interaction where she discussed several aspects of being a star wife along with also addressing subjects related to her husband’s career and stardom. In the same interaction, she was also asked about the different reality show offers like Bigg Boss that came her way for being Govinda’s wife, to which the star wife counter questioned if anyone would ask such questions to star wife – Gauri Khan, who is married to Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan.

In the recent session of Timeout with Ankit, Sunita Ahuja responded to being approached for Bigg Boss wherein she also revealed that there have been offers for Bigg Boss OTT as well but refused to participate in it because she asserted that a person with her status should be hosting it and not be a contestant. “They’ve been making me offers for the last four years. For the OTT version as well, the one hosted by Anil Kapoor.  They came to me twice for that, and I told them, ‘Are you mad? You think I clean toilets?’ You ask me this question, but tell me, would you ask Shah Rukh Khan’s wife the same thing? Do you think we’re struggling financially? I don’t even watch Bigg Boss.” She added, “I told them, ‘Do you even know who you’re talking to right now? Come to me if you want me to host alongside Salman Khan’,”.

In the same interaction, she also opened up about Koffee With Karan and asserted that if she would ever be on the show, she would be quite entertaining.  Mentioning that she is ‘still waiting for invite’, Sunita reacted to the question if she is ‘irritated’ about not being invited on the show. Answering the same, she shared, “Why would I be irritated? It’s his show, it’s up to him who he wants to invite. Although if he invites me he’ll certainly attract ratings! Karan’s also a Gemini, so am I. We’ll have a ball.”

Raveena Tandon apologizes to fans, opens up about photo request anxiety linked to traumatic incident in Mumbai

Raveena Tandon apologizes to fans, opens up about photo request anxiety linked to traumatic incident in Mumbai

Raveena Tandon revealed that she feels anxious when asked for photos while alone. She shared on social media that this unease began after a troubling incident in Bandra, Mumbai, where she was wrongly accused of being drunk and causing a car accident—claims later disproven by the Mumbai police.

Raveena recounted an experience in London when she panicked and fled after being approached by a group of fans seeking selfies. On September 12, she posted an apology on social media to those fans, expressing regret for not taking photos with them. She explained that the Bandra incident had left her traumatized, prompting her to steer clear of such situations.

Hi , this is just to put on record . That a few days ago in london , I was walking by and a few men approached me , I anyway have heard not such great things about the crime situation here, so I withdrew a bit when they asked if I was who I am, and my first instinct was to say no… — Raveena Tandon (@TandonRaveena) September 13, 2024

She wrote, “Hi , this is just to put on record that a few days ago in London , I was walking by, and a few men approached me. I anyway, had not heard such great things about the crime situation here, so I withdrew a bit when they asked if I was who I am, and my first instinct was to say no and walk away even faster, as I was alone. They just wanted a picture, I guess, and I most of the time oblige, but after the incident that happened in Bandra a few months ago, has left me a bit nervous and traumatised, so when I’m with people I am OK, but alone I still get a bit nervous these days.”

Raveena continued, “I should’ve probably given them a photo as maybe they were innocent fans, but I panicked and walked away fast and just asked a security guy for help. I felt really bad after this incident, and would want to apologise to them through this medium if they are reading, that it was not my intention to offend. I’m really sorry. Hope I can meet you again and click a picture with you, maybe. I try my best to be accessible and normal, but I fail at times. So sorry guys. I hope you are reading this and know that I shouldn’t have panicke.”

In June, a man claimed that Raveena Tandon's driver had struck his mother and that the actress had assaulted her while drunk. However, police investigations, including a review of CCTV footage from the Khar building where the incident reportedly happened, showed that the women were near the actor's car but were not hit by it.

Rakul Preet Singh says actors should trust their own judgement over entourage advice: “Do what you feel is right”

Rakul Preet Singh says actors should trust their own judgement over entourage advice: “Do what you feel is right”

Rakul Preet Singh, recognized for her roles in both Hindi and Telugu films, discussed the need for resilience in the film industry, particularly given the constant stream of advice from various sources, including an actor's entourage. On the Beer Biceps podcast, she reflected on filmmaker Rohit Shetty's observation about the difficulties of producing multi-starrer films, noting that younger actors are often significantly influenced by their entourages.

When questioned if actors' fears are fuelled by their entourages, Rakul agreed and said, “Yes, you’re right. You’ve to be silly to believe everything you hear. A lot of people will give you several advices, but you’ve to use your own mind. What Rohit sir said is probably right. In South, the old school single manager system is still in place. They don’t have a huge entourage; you don’t have 10 people telling you what’s good for your positioning or what’s not.”

She emphasised the need of respecting advice but ultimately trusting one's own judgement. She said, “It’s important to listen and respect them. They know what they’re saying but do what you feel is right. As an actor, your actions will go out in the public, so you’ve to be responsible for yourself.”

Rakul also mentioned her close relationship with her staff, which she cherishes for reasons other than professional guidance, bonding with them over meals and exercises rather than gossiping. “You are who you surround yourself with. You spend more time with your core team—hair and makeup, spot boy—so it’s important to know what energy they carry. I don’t want to listen to gossip at 7 in the morning, I’m not interested in knowing about someone else’s life,” she explained.

Looking back on her Bollywood career, Rakul, who debuted in Hindi cinema with Yaariyaan in 2014, acknowledged the distinct challenges of the industry. She pointed out that working in Mumbai entails navigating issues related to "PR, visibility, positioning, and brands," which she gradually came to understand.

She recalled an eye-opening incident from her early career, she stated, “I didn’t know during promotions that I had to get a stylist. I learnt that right before my promotions were starting and I thought, ‘My God this is so expensive!’ This is 12 years ago. Stylists are expensive, they can range anywhere between Rs 15,000 to a lakh for one event, one outfit. You learn from all these things.”

Rakul Preet Singh will soon appear in the highly anticipated sequel De De Pyaar De 2, opposite Ajay Devgn.
