Shakun Batra recently spoke about his views on Deepika Padukone and illuminated on her positive approach towards navigating the entertainment industry. In a discussion with Ranveer Allahbadia, he acknowledged about her choice to reside in Prabhadevi as a calculated decision as it keeps her connected to her roots and gives a wide berth from the industry’s overwhelming noise.

“There’s a reason she lives in Prabhadevi. She wanted to make sure she doesn’t get lost in the noise of the industry. She surrounds herself with people who are from outside of the industry. You can see she can very easily cut out the stardom from her day-to-day life,” he emphasised on how she has an amazing ability to separate her stardom from her everyday life and her strength of always staying grounded.

“What I have found fascinating is just the way the industry is structured, movies are structured. They put you on a pedestal and then what happens is you start to, you have to start at some level believing that you’re better than the others and it depends how real you want to stay or how much you want to give into that sense of self-esteem, which I think is a false self-esteem,” he said. He also expressed how the structure of the industry often grows on the actors leading them to a sense of superiority that develops and challenge their sense of self-esteem.

The director had earlier collaborated with the actress for the first time in 2022 film Gehraiyaan which also starred Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa. For the time being, Deepika is all set to welcome her first child with actor Ranveer Singh which was announced earlier this year. She will also soon be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Singham again alongside Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and many more.

Anupama actor Aashish Mehrotra, best known to portray the role of Rupali Ganguly aka Anupama Kapadia’s eldest son with Vanraj Shah, Paritosh Shah, will be seen quitting the show. On May 9, the actor took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt note as he bid farewell to his grey character after four years of successful run. For the unversed, the Star Plus show continues to rule the TRP charts in the Indian fiction shows genre.

Taking to Instagram, Aashish Mehrotra shared several memories of ‘Toshu’, as he is fondly addressed in the show, along with accolades he has won for Anupama. He also penned a long note opening about his journey during the show, his character, and his camaraderie with the team and said, “It was a beautiful beautiful journey… a beautiful journey of almost 4 years as your “Toshu” in Anupamaa… The character being just the opposite of who I am as a person… has made it more challenging and fun to live with.. It has been a huge roller coaster ride.. But whatttt a ride!!!”

He went on to add, “From a topper in college - mba gold medalist, most loved son being the 1st born, then the rebel child, drunkard , bhaag kar shaadi karne waala lover, saas ka ghulaam- ghar jamai, selfish money lover, loving brother, comic property dealer to being bed ridden after a stroke.. apne bacchi chura kar bhag gaya tha… kyaaa kyaa nahi kiyaa hai yaar in this journey… Toshus love for his father was the most special thing to me in this journey.. It brings tears instantly… Its all so overwhelming… I found some amazing people through this journey who will stay with me for life… and to my audience my second family - thank you for hating me soo much that I could feel your love and connect with me always. He also dedicated another note for the producer of the show Rajan Shahi, wherein he shared, “To the man who builds great characters and tells stories better than anyone else… Thank you for giving me the chance to be “Toshu” Thank you for pushing me to do everything I did on the show. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, glowing with her baby bump, was recently spotted returning from a babymoon with husband Ranveer Singh. This is the first public appearance of the couple since Ranveer archived his older Instagram posts, including their wedding pictures, sparking rumours of trouble in paradise. However, there’s no such thing.

A video shared by a paparazzo captured Deepika and Ranveer, the couple exiting their car. Deepika sported an oversized t-shirt, likely to hide her baby bump. While the footage seems to be shot from inside another car, initially Deepika doesn't acknowledge the camera. But as she walks away, she playfully swats at the camera, leaving it unclear if it was a friendly gesture or a reaction to being filmed.

Meanwhile, sources close to the couple have assured that all is well between Deepika and Ranveer. They're simply cherishing their time together as they prepare to welcome their first child. Ranveer Singh was also seen at the Tiffany & Co store launch event on Wednesday.

It's important to note that Ranveer archived, not deleted, his pre-2023 posts. This means the wedding pictures still exist on his account, just not visible on his main feed. Additionally, his recent pictures with Deepika are still very much there.

While many Bollywood buffs are aware of the relationship between Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan years ago before they found love again in Mira Rajput and Saif Ali Khan, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali witnessed the breakup of the couple which happened during the shoot of their biggest blockbuster Jab We Met. The romantic comedy, which was not only a blockbuster but is also hailed as a cult classic even today, catapulted their career yet again to the top but on the personal front, it saw the couple parting ways.

Addressing the same during a recent interaction, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali asserted that despite their tumultuous relationship during the shoot of the film, followed by their breakup, none of it affected its shoot and the two actors were thoroughly professional. “Most of the film was shot. There were two days after their so-called break-up that we had to shoot. They were absolutely professional. No blemish, nothing at all, whatever is happening in their personal lives,” he told Galatta India.

He further went on to talk about the ‘not-so-successful’ professional phase the two actors were experiencing at that point of time in their careers and added, “That time Shahid and Kareena were not doing supremely well. But these ups and downs keep happening in the lives of filmmakers and actors. But as filmmakers we don’t have to speculate like the stock market, judge what we think is right for a particular part and only that works. This is the learning of my life.”

Speaking about how Jab We Met was the most rejected film in his life, Imtiaz also revealed that he wanted to first make the film with Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta but it failed to materialize. He shared, “Bobby was doing some other work, so I thought let it be, let’s not make this film together. We shook hands on that.” He also talked about approaching Preity Zinta and how she complimented the script and added, “That was the first time somebody had complimented the film. So, I owe it to her and whenever I meet her, I give her a special hug and thank her that, ‘You were the first person, who told me this film is ok.’ So, Bobby and Preity Zinta is the pairing I wanted but it didn’t happen.”

Jab We Met is a rom-com where a cheerful, self-loving girl transforms the life of a depressed man in a short journey from Mumbai to Bhatinda and how his love helps her regain herself when she starts losing confidence in life. The film, which released in 2007, went on to win several accolades, and turned out to be a career-defining film for both Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

The lavish production design and Bhansali's signature visual grandeur have garnered appreciation. However, historical accuracy and the show's portrayal of the red-light district in pre-independence India have sparked debate. One of the main protagonists of the series is Bhansali’s niece Sharmin who has found herself in the crosshairs of online negativity.

Sharmin has faced the brunt of an additional criticism – nepotism. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar embarked on a spiritual detour during the filming of his latest project, Jolly LLB 3, in Rajasthan. On the quiet morning of Sunday, May 5, Kumar made a visit to the historic Brahma Temple in Pushkar, seeking blessings at this pilgrimage site.

Clad in a simple white attire, Kumar arrived at the temple in the early hour of 5:30 am, opting for a peaceful visit before the crowds gathered. This wasn't his first attempt though. News reports suggest there were attempts made in the preceding days to visit the temple, but large fan gatherings made it challenging. However, this time around, Kumar managed a serene visit, offering prayers and spending time within the sacred premises. Petkar's story is an embodiment of resilience. A promising athlete, Petkar's journey took an unexpected turn when he was disabled in the Indo-Pakistani War. However, his unwavering spirit led him to overcome adversity and achieve sporting glory at the Paralympics.

Speaking of the film, the actor previously said, “Chandu Champion is one of the toughest films that I have done because it has so many elements. Murlikant Petkar ji’s journey is unlike any other. When I first heard the film, I couldn’t believe it was a true story. He was not associated with one sport alone; there were different sports and different phases in his life. Also, he was an army officer. So, the logline of the film is a man who refuses to surrender.”

The actor added, “We are showing him at 17 years old, 24 years old, and in later [years]. So, you’ll see a complete transformation in me throughout the film. My [fitness] routine was based on how the character had to look—he had to look childlike at one stage and mature in another. The shoot lasted a year, and I didn’t do anything else during that time.”

Director Kabir Khan is known for his ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with audiences. His last directorial venture was 83, which chronicled India's historic victory in the 1983 Cricket World Cup.

Jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan, Chandu Champion is set for a June 14, 2024 release, and with the trailer release on the horizon, anticipation is sure to reach a boiling point.

For the unversed, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, who were dating for quite some time, celebrated a year of their anniversary this year after tying the knot on February 7, 2023 in Rajasthan.

In an interview with a leading daily, Kareena Kapoor Khan had asserted that she prefers to be a friend to Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim rather than their mother because they already have an amazing mother who raised them.
