In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sophie Choudry revealed her personal hair care and styling routine. The singer and actress opened up about how she maintains her locks, sharing insights into her hair care practices and favorite products.

Washing and Conditioning Routine

Sophie emphasized that she only washes her hair twice a week. “I can't wash it every day. Twice a week and condition it, and then I do a treatment at least once a month,” she said. Due to her fine hair texture, frequent washing can make her hair flat, which she tries to avoid.

Treatments and Care

She highlighted the importance of regular treatments and masks. “I do a lot of treatments, masks, all of that kind of stuff. I just brush it before I sleep, and I always use, like, a satin band to tie it up,” Sophie mentioned. She also shared that she began experimenting with colors and highlights at a young age, which necessitates extra care.

Diet and Vitamins

According to Sophie, a healthy diet and vitamins play a crucial role in hair health. “What you have on the inside reflects on the outside, on your skin and in your hair,” she explained, advocating for a nutritious diet to support overall hair and skin health.

Product Preferences

Sophie prefers using gentle, organic, and chemical-free products whenever possible. “I try and use very gentle products, even in my lotions and everything for my skin and my body. I try to use paraben-free,” she noted. Although she uses a lot of hairspray, she avoids wax and aims for products that are clean and organic.

Brushing Techniques

Discussing proper brushing techniques, Sophie stressed the importance of being careful with wet hair. “The one mistake people make a lot is they brush their hair a lot when it's completely wet, and that's when you can break your hair. You have to be so careful,” she advised. Sophie recommends using different brushes for wet and dry hair and brushing in sections to avoid damage.

Actor-comedian Cyrus Broacha recently shared some amusing stories about his interactions with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan during his podcast, Cyrus Says. These anecdotes shed light on the lighter side of Salman Khan.

Falling Asleep During Bigg Boss Cyrus Broacha recalled an incident from his time on Bigg Boss, where he inadvertently fell asleep while Salman Khan was addressing the contestants. “The first time Salman was on, I think it was the first eviction, and he was being very serious in his style where he is giving some lecture to somebody and I was passing out. And then he started laughing because he never met a contestant who has fallen asleep while he is talking. Usually, all the other contestants go berserk like ‘Salman Bhai’ and I was napping,” Broacha shared. The Egg Incident Broacha also discussed his dissatisfaction with the food in the Bigg Boss house and how Salman Khan sent him some eggs on the day he left the show. “He (Salman Khan) sent me eggs, the day I actually got out. So what happened, the eggs came and five minutes later, they asked me to leave. I had issue with my son. Long story. Anyway, I got out. After I left, Pooja Bhatt’s father (Mahesh Bhatt) called me to check on his daughter. And Pooja started to fight with them (contestants). Because, apparently, the moment I left, all the contestants went for the eggs. She was very hurt. Where’s the emotion?” Interviewing Salman Khan While Hungover In another humorous tale, Cyrus Broacha recounted an interview with Salman Khan during his MTV days when he was completely hungover. He said, “I was out until 3 in the morning. I was completely drunk. Salman Khan’s secretary, during the film Yuvvraaj, called and said you can do the interview today. They woke me up and made me leave at 9 in the morning. I was so hungover, I stopped at Lucky Biryani. I remember there were Irani boys there. I had to vomit there. The only person who understood what I was going through was Salman Khan. No judgement.” The Arm-Touching Incident Cyrus Broacha’s podcast co-host, Cyrus Sahukar, chimed in with another memorable moment, highlighting the only time Salman Khan got slightly irritated with Broacha. “He has always been super nice to you. I think the only time he got slightly irritated with you was when in an interview you kept saying ‘Can I touch your arm?’ and he was like, ‘Hey, take it easy’.”

Bollywood actor Ashwath Bhatt, known for his roles in films like Raazi and IB71, has revealed a harrowing experience during his recent trip to Istanbul, Turkey. The actor was assaulted by a robber while exploring the popular tourist destination, Galata Tower.

Ashwath Bhatt Speaks On Being Assaulted in Turkey In a detailed account shared with ETimes, Ashwath described the terrifying incident. He explained, "I was walking towards Galata Tower when a man approached me. He had a chain in his hand, and before I could fully comprehend what was happening, he hit me on the back with it. In retrospect, it was likely a gang working in tandem, trying to snatch my bag... for a second, I was so shocked - what’s happening?"

Despite the shock of the attack, Ashwath managed to resist the robber's attempt to snatch his bag. A passing cab driver intervened, scaring the assailant away. However, the actor sustained injuries during the struggle. Ashwath Bhatt Files Complaint  Ashwath emphasized the importance of reporting such incidents, urging tourists to not be discouraged by the fear of inconvenience. He said, "It’s unfortunate that such a thing happened, especially in such a touristy area. People watch films and think Turkey is all romantic, but if we don’t report crime, these incidents will only increase. Everybody warned me about pickpockets, but this was beyond anything I had imagined." The actor has filed a complaint with the local authorities and is currently recovering from the ordeal.

The John Abraham-Sharvari starrer Vedaa has been in the news after its makers two weeks back announced that they are yet to get a censor certificate though they applied their film to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) well in advance. The CBFC’s Examining Committee (EC) saw the film in June-end and it was sent to the Revising Committee (RC). After the makers spoke up, the RC finally saw the film on July 29 and decided to clear the film. There were reports that not a single cut have been imposed in the film. Bollywood Hungama, however, has learned that Vedaa was subject to certain deletions and modifications by the CBFC’s RC.

To begin with, a 1-minute-16-second long modified disclaimer and voiceover were asked to be added. A dialogue with derogatory references towards women and social identity was asked to be modified. Then, a 2-minute-16-second long hanging scene was deleted. The word 'Jodhpur' was muted while referring to Jodhpur High Court and visuals of violence inside the court premises were asked to be reduced by 30%. By doing so, the makers had to chop off 6 minutes 15 seconds of the film.

That's not all, a character is seen listening to an audio track on a mobile phone with Sanskrit shlokas. This song was deleted by the CBFC. An abusive word 'behenkhor' was replaced with 'bana'. The CBFC also asked the makers to blur visuals of the tearing of currency notes and pieces of the currency notes. Moreover, the text information 'Brahmin son...Shudra's son' was asked to be deleted.

Lastly, the makers submitted authentic references, that is newspaper articles, court judgments, religious scriptures etc. to indicate the film is inspired by true events.

In all, the CBFC deleted 9 minutes and 14 seconds of the film. Once the changes were done, Vedaa was granted a U/A certificate on August 6. The length of the film, as mentioned on the certificate, is 150 minutes. In other words, Vedaa is 2 hours and 30 minutes long. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, it releases in cinemas on August 15.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The Presiding Officer of the RC was Padma Shri Ramesh Patange. He is known to clear those films for which the EC has had reservations. In recent times, he also cleared the controversial film Hamare Baraah and it’s no surprise that he also passed Vedaa, subject to certain modifications.”

Acknowledging the impressive Pakistani music scene, Sunidhi praised the popular show Coke Studio Pakistan, especially the song 'Turi Jandi' by Hassan Raheem and Shazia Mansoor. She expressed her admiration for the passion and dedication that Pakistani artists put into their music. “I was absolutely blown away by the Coke Studio video for 'Turi Jandi.' They do music with such passion. Currently, I’m stunned by a Coke Studio song 'Turi Jandi' by Hassan Raheem and Shazia Mansoor. The way they made the video, it’s unbelievable. The song itself is good, but the video made it better. It’s really lovely. I was truly taken aback,” Sunidhi remarked.

Sunidhi noted that while Pakistan's film industry may not be as large as India's, its music scene is fantastic and incredible. She commended the dedication and love that Pakistani artists pour into their work, which has led to their music gaining popularity and recognition worldwide.

Veteran Bollywood actress and Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan recently stirred controversy in Parliament by objecting to being addressed by her husband's name, actor Amitabh Bachchan. The issue was highlighted during Monday's session when Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar addressed her as 'Smt Jaya Amitabh Bachchan,' as listed on her nomination papers.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Schools Jaya Bachchan  In a video that has since gone viral, Dhankhar can be seen addressing the SP MP by her official name. Jaya Bachchan, however, objected, asking, "Sir, aapko Amitabh ka matlab pata hai na?" (Sir, do you know what Amitabh means?). In response, Dhankhar stated, "Ma'am aap badal dijiye, main badalwa dunga. There is a procedure to change the name that you have submitted for your election certificate. I had made use of the provision myself in 1989, and it is available for all the members. Please change it officially then."

This response evoked cheers and claps from the other members of Parliament.

Janhvi Kapoor's much-anticipated thriller drama, Ulajh, failed to make a strong impact at the box office upon its release. The film, which also stars Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Meiyan Chang, and Rajesh Tailang, has been facing a tough time attracting audiences to theaters.

Gulshan Devaiah's Take on Uljah Struggling On Box Office  In response to the film's underwhelming performance, Gulshan Devaiah took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his perspective. He wrote, "Struggle is the salt that makes success taste good. The ones who don’t embrace the struggle will never achieve anything worthwhile. This is a tough business. Period."

Gulshan Devaiah’s Strong Stance on Cinema When a fan suggested that OTT platforms could be a better fit for films like Ulajh, Gulshan firmly disagreed. He expressed his belief that feature films are meant to be experienced on the big screen. "Hit flop toh chalta rahta hai (Films will either be hits or flops). As pragmatic as I am about a lot of things, I’m not willing to let go of my idealism when it comes to cinema. I also don’t expect people to understand this. It’s a very personal thing for me," he wrote.

Ulajh Faces Competition At Box-Office Ulajh released a screen count of 750, competing against Ajay Devgn's Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha and other films still running in theaters. The film's modest opening day collection of Rs 1 crore net highlights the challenges it faced at the box office.

Having said that, it is worth mentioning here that, before Ulajh’s release, Gulshan, in an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, had shared his thoughts on his film getting a narrow window at the box office. He told us, “I don't take the pressure, if others want to, they can. I am very happy that my film is releasing on the big screen. I am a cinema lover and for cinema lovers, that is what matters. It’s up to the audience to make the film hit or flop. That's not in my hands. I have done what I had to do.”

Madhuri Dixit-Nene is reportedly set to venture into uncharted territory. The actor, who made her digital debut with the intriguing thriller The Fame Game, is now in talks to play a serial killer in a new web series helmed by the acclaimed director, Nagesh Kukunoor.

Madhuri Dixit To Play A Serial Killer?  Titled Mrs Deshpande, the series is a psychological thriller that revolves around a unique premise. It explores the idea of the police enlisting a convicted serial killer to assist in profiling and apprehending another serial killer on the loose. The show is reportedly an adaptation of a French series.

A report by Mid-Day quoted a source saying, “The show tells the story of how the police hire a serial killer and pick her brains to understand another serial killer’s modus operandi and nab him. The show is a remake of a French series.” The source further added, “The casting is underway. The team is excited to present Madhuri in a dark role.”

If everything falls into place, Nagesh Kukunoor will make a comeback to the digital space after his stint with Modern Love Hyderabad. Known for his sensitive storytelling, Kukunoor’s association with a dark thriller promises to be an intriguing combination. However, fans have to wait for an official announcement to confirm the same. 

Meanwhile, the ‘Dhak Dhak’ girl is currently gearing up for the celebrations of her 40 years in showbiz. A few days back, she announced that she would be touring the USA from August 8 to August 11, 2024, in a special four-city tour aptly titled 'The Forever Queen of Bollywood - Madhuri Dixit.' She will visit New York, Dallas, New Jersey, and Atlanta.

Rajshri Productions’ all-time classic Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! completes 30 years today. Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, the film was a complete family entertainer starring Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit Nene in the lead. The movie gave a tremendous boost to the careers of both the actors.

During an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Madhuri went down memory lane thinking about the film. When asked how important this movie is in her filmography, she said, “Very important because it is one of the biggest hits of its time. The way my character was portrayed, I became like a family member to everyone. I was a bahu, beti, girlfriend, wife, etc. So, they accepted me in very different ways. That’s the importance of what Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! did to everybody’s career at that time, be it Salman or me or all the actors.”

She added, “Even today, people tell me that whenever it comes on OTT or wherever, they just sit and watch. It talks about our culture; it talks about the emotions. After a very long time, they had got such a film.”

Madhuri pointed out how Hum Aapne Hain Koun..! impacted the marriage scene in India, “It influenced marriages in those days. After that, everyone started having shaadis for 2, 3, 4 or 5 days. So, it also started a kind of cultural moment also.”

The veteran actress also reminisced how the film was celebrated back then. “I remember for the first time in the theatres whenever ‘Didi Tera Dewar Deewana’ used to come, they used to have these lights on the screen that would go up. Theatres were all lit up. People were going with their families of 14 people and watching the film together. It was a film where the whole family could go together and enjoy,” she said.

Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! also starred Renuka Shahane, Mohnish Bahl, Reema Lagoo, Anupam Kher, Alok Nath, Laxmikant Berde, Satish Shah among others. The film completed as many as 100 weeks in a few cinemas in India.

The controversy surrounding television actor Dalljiet Kaur's marriage to Nikhil Patel took a new turn. In the midst of speculation over their split, Times Now reports that Dalljiet filed a FIR against Nikhil on grounds of cruelty and criminal breach of trust. Nikhil was recently seen at the Mumbai airport with his girlfriend Safeena Nazar.

The report stated that Dalljiet has submitted a FIR against Nikhil under section 85 and 316 (2) of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita).

Section 85 of BNS stated, “Husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty. — Whoever, being the husband or the relative of the husband of a woman, subjects such woman to cruelty shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years and shall also be liable to fine.”

Section 312 (2) of BNS stated, “Whoever commits criminal breach of trust shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to five years, or with fine, or with both.”

Meanwhile, Dalljiet took to her X account to express gratitude to the police for their support. Her latest tweet read, “Thank you Jt Comm Of Police Anil Paraskar, DCP Krishnatkant Upadhyay, Senior Inspector Yogendra Pache & IO Sachin Shelke along with a lady constable for your efficiency. While Ajay Devgn is eagerly awaiting the response for the Neeraj Pandey directorial Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, the actor also has other interesting films in the pipeline, which he has already kicked off. Among the upcoming projects is the popular action-comedy Son of Sardaar which is marking its return with a sequel and will see Devgn reunite with Sanjay Dutt. Apart from the duo, the second instalment will have Mrunal Thakur as the leading lady. However, recent reports suggest that Son of Sardaar 2 will have an extensive supporting cast.

While reports indicate that the work on the film has kicked off in June 2, we hear that a mix of actors from the prequel and several new ones have been added to the list of the film’s cast. Among the new ones, names of Neeru Bajwa, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Sharat Saxena, Roshni Walia, and Ashwini Kalsekar have been added whereas Mukul Dev and Vindu Dhara Singh, who were a part of the first instalment will be seen in this one too.

In a report with Pinkvillla, a source confirmed these details, adding, “Son of Sardaar 2 is a strong family entertainer and the makers have got a strong ensemble cast on board. The plot of this comic caper rides on quirky characters and the humor is a result of the inter-character dynamics. The Son of Sardaar 2 team has cast actors based on their ability to pull off the comic sequences with conviction and are confident to take the audience on a funny ride in 2025,”

The source also revealed details of the film being shot across two continents and stated, “The film will be shot primarily in Scotland, as the team intends to shoot for the film in the country till the end of August. After calling it a wrap on the international leg, they kick off the second schedule in Mumbai, followed by the next round of leg in multiple cities of North India.”

While the makers have been keeping the details of Son of Sardaar 2 under wraps, we hear that audiences will receive a treat in the form of the fun camaraderie that Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt will share on screen. Although the release date has not been locked, it is being said that the makers are looking at releasing it in the second half of 2025.

The Saif Ali Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer Love Aaj Kal (2009) completed 15 years on July 31. It was Imtiaz Ali’s next film after the much-loved classic love story Jab We Met (2007). Hence, the expectations were tremendous. The film’s trailer and music had also worked big time. As a result, it had a huge opening of Rs. 8.02 crores. In fact, it was the second biggest opener of the year after 3 Idiots and beat films like Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Kambakkht Ishq, Wanted etc.

In Jab We Met, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s performance emerged as one of the greatest of Indian cinema. As a result, it was surprising that Imtiaz didn’t repeat her in Love Aaj Kal. Saif did speak about this aspect in one of the interviews, which was recently published by Hindustan Times.

Saif Ali Khan candidly admitted, “I think she was quite keen to work with Imtiaz Ali again and I think he promised her his next movie. Her boyfriend being the producer of Imtiaz’s next movie and being in the situation that she was, she was wondering and finding it hard to understand why we had cast Deepika, I think.”

Imtiaz Ali confessed that he had promised her the role even before Deepika Padukone debuted with Om Shanti Om (2007), which incidentally released just two weeks after Jab We Met. Imtiaz stated, “Casting Deepika was a risk. It was a challenge to myself as Deepika was a newcomer.” He also, at the same time, said that he was sure about his casting choice.

Besides Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone, Love Aaj Kalstarred Brazilian model Giselli Monteiro in her debut role. The makers at that time had shown her in the promos but didn’t reveal her name. Hence, no one knew about her identity until her name was mentioned in the opening credits. The casting was unconventional as Giselli was given the role of Harleen Kaur, a hard-core Punjabi. She, however, slipped into the character effortlessly.

On her casting, Imtiaz Ali said, “Giselle came to me through dress designer Anaita Shroff. She was to play Jo, Saif’s Caucasian girlfriend in the second half. She wasn’t right for Jo. But my wife (Preety Ali), who was there, suggested Giselle for Harleen.”

Love Aaj Kal is set in 2009 when Jai (Saif Ali Khan) and Meera (Deepika Padukone) get into a relationship but then decide to break up. They go their separate ways and even find new partners. Soon they realize that they are made for each other. Jai, meanwhile, is friends with Veer (Rishi Kapoor) who has different ideas about romance. He narrates the story of how he won Harleen in the 1960s. Interestingly, Saif also plays the younger Veer. The older Harleen, meanwhile, was played by Rishi's wife Neetu Kapoor. It marked Neetu’s comeback to films after 26 years.

Imtiaz Ali revealed, “I fell on my knees and told her I am a huge fan. After a lot of persuasion, I finally convinced her to act in my film.”

Despite being considered as one of the most ‘selfish’ contestants of the Bigg Boss OTT 3, actress Sana Makbul, best known for her role in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon as Lavanya, walked away with the trophy after being announced as winner by host Anil Kapoor. For the unversed, the digital reality show came to an end on August 2, Friday evening amid much fanfare. Along with Sana, rapper and co-contestant Naezy were declared as the runner-up of the show.

Bigg Boss OTT 3, which kicked off a couple of months ago, featured several influences, some television stars, and a few other known names from different walks of life. While shockingly the Maliks got evicted from the game despite creating stirs outside the house for their polygamous marriage, Sai Ketan Rao, who is a renowned celebrity in the television industry also had to bid adieu to the show after Kritika. Followed by the eviction of the two, Bollywood actor Ranvir Shorey, who too made news, was the last three to be eliminated, leaving the choice between rapper Naezy aka Naved Shaikh and Sana Makbul. As the audiences waited with bated breath, with the clock all about strike midnight, host Anil Kapoor announced Sana as the winner leaving the audiences enthralled.
